HOOL! is the go-to sports app for basketball fanatics. It's not just about checking stats and scores – it's a whole new ball game!
With HOOL!, you get all the usual sports app stuff like news and game updates, but we've added a social twist. It's like Twitter meets ESPN, where you can connect with other fans, chat about games, and join fan clubs. It's basketball, but better!

Project Overview
HOOL!, the ultimate app for basketball junkies, merges your favorite sports features with social media vibes.
Check out game stats, pick your favorite teams, and read up on player profiles – all while connecting with other fans in chats, posts, and groups. It's your one-stop shop for all things hoops, with a side of social swagger.
Wireframes
Before diving into the app's design, its blueprint was mapped out with wireframes.
These handy lo-fi wireframes laid the groundwork, giving me a clear vision of the design direction and how the app would look and function.
Onboarding
Getting started with HOOL! is a breeze. Sign in, sign up, or skip the fuss altogether – it's up to you!
Then, pick your favorite teams from leagues worldwide to customize your feed. NBA, NBL, B.League, ASEAN, NCAA, ABL — you name it! Every basketball league, both major and minor, gets represented in HOOL! Whether you're a die-hard Lebron fan or a Raptors enthusiast, your feed will be packed with updates on your favorite squads.
User Interface Elements
HOOL! is designed for easy navigation, with five main sections accessible via the bottom bar.
Each icon is basketball-themed, giving you that courtside feel every time you open the app. Home is a three-point area. Scoreboard is... well, a scoreboard. Community is a foam hand. Inbox is a basketball as a chat bubble. And Profile is a jersey!
Dive into game recaps, player updates, and news articles on your favorite teams and players. Plus, catch up on the latest buzz from the app's feed, where you'll find news shared by followed teams and trending topics.
Quick access to notifications and a handy search bar make navigating a breeze. Search for anything from players to game highlights, with results neatly categorized for easy browsing.
Dive deep into the heart of the game in the Scoreboard section. There, you'll find everything you need to stay on top of the action.
Want to relive the thrill of past games? No problem – check out detailed stats and scores from previous matchups, complete with play-by-play breakdowns and highlight reels.
But that's not all. With the handy reminders, you'll never miss a game again. Get notified about upcoming matchups and mark your calendar so you can catch every buzzer-beater and slam dunk. Whether you're a hardcore stats junkie or just looking for the final score, that's where you'll find what you're looking for.

Get the latest updates from your favorite teams on your Home feed. Your favorite teams share championship news, game highlights, and player interviews, written by sports journalists and analysts, tailored to your interests based on the hashtags you follow.
Found an article you love? Share it with the community by rebounding it! Add your own comment and post it to your feed for others to see and engage with.

Here, basketball fans from all over the world come together to share their passion, thoughts, and opinions on everything hoops-related. It's where the real magic happens, with lively discussions, hot takes, and friendly banter filling the air.
Whether you're cheering on your favorite team, debating the latest trades, or just soaking in the excitement of the game, there's something for everyone in this vibrant community.
The post's engagement icons remain the same as the ones you find in a news article, with the addition of the comment icon (modeled after a cheering megaphone) but the Cheer icon is more interactive here, and you'll see more of that in a bit.
Join fan clubs to connect with like-minded fans and chat about all things basketball. Fan of a team or just love the game, there's a club for you.
The community and Club icons are made to be simple and minimal but still convey what they're about, with some of them keeping the basketball theme.
Adding some flair to your reactions is easy on HOOL! Instead of just cheering, you've got options to express yourself
Plus, it's easy to see which reactions are trending – the top three most used ones show up overlapped in the reaction count section. Want to see them all? Just click to view the full list. And when you hold down the Cheer button, get ready for some fun – large animated emojis pop up to add a little extra oomph to your reactions.
Keep the conversation going with direct messaging. Chat with friends, start group chats, and stay connected with the basketball community.
Everyone gets to express themselves and show who they represent on their profile. Profiles differ from personal to professional, with badges setting up the differences and showing what each profile is

Official accounts get a special badge to show they're legit; Players, staff, officials teams, and leagues. These basketball-themed badges add a touch of authenticity to their profiles.
Curate your own lineup of favorite players, teams, and leagues and represent them next to your profile picture as your Fan's Favs. Click on any to dive into their stats and updates in the Scoreboard section.
Teams and leagues have tabs next to their profile pictures that lead to a list of the team's personnel and a list of the leagues' teams and officials, respectively.
