I have to say, being paid through contra has been an absolute treat recently. The invoicing and payment process is so easy for both me and my clients especially with most of of my clients being US based and me being in the UK. I'll 100% continue using it for ease moving forward! ⚡️🙌🏻
$10K earned, happy US clients, and zero payment stress in the UK you’re absolutely cracked the system! Massive congratulations on this milestone. Keep building!
I’m new to Contra and still figuring out how to find clients and get started on the platform.
For those of you who’ve been here for a while, do you have any advice on getting your first clients, building connections, and making your profile stand out?
I’d really appreciate any tips or lessons you’ve learned along the way! 🙌
Alright Contra community, I’m new here and have a question for those who’ve been around for a while 👀
How do you actually land your first clients on Contra?
I’m a software engineer working across frontend development, UI/UX design, and interactive web experiences, and I’m excited to start connecting with people here.
I’d love to hear your advice on finding clients, building connections, and making a profile stand out.
Any tips, lessons learned, or things you wish you’d known when you started? I’m all ears! 🙌
Starting on Contra with zero reviews and zero client history.
My plan to land client #1:
→ Publish clearly labeled concept projects
→ Pitch a few local businesses with spec redesigns of their sites
→ Share the process, not just the final visuals
Designers who landed their first client here: what actually moved the needle for you? Portfolio, outreach, or something else?
