Welcome to Contra, Inzamam. Few things that worked for me:
Fill out your profile completely, every section. Add real project work even if it's personal or spec, an empty portfolio kills you.
Niche down. Don't be a generalist. Pick one thing you do well and position around that.

Honestly, I think we both moved on a while ago.
