If AI can generate beautiful illustrations in seconds… why would you still draw one yourself? 🤨
I'm currently working on a packaging project that I can't share just yet, but one part of the process stood out: the hero element is a custom vector illustration, drawn by hand from the very first sketch. 🍃
Could AI have generated something similar? Probably.
However, to me, the value sits in the creative decisions behind every line, shape, and detail. That's what gives a brand its own personality and how to keep the design craft still alive.
What part of your creative process should ✨always✨ keep a human touch?
Simply for the love of the game
It looks great. AI can help generate illustrations, but it doesn’t replace expertise. A strong result still depends on the designer’s understanding of prompting, composition, and visual design. An experienced designer knows how to guide the AI to achieve a much better outcome.

A truly well asked question, I believe design and art, for years to come should remain hand drawn whether it's on paper or through screen. The decisions behind a every line was dictate by a very driven individuals that truly understand what they/him/her are/is doing. AI, would never replace this.
Absolutely. AI can accelerate the process, but the human eye still makes the meaningful creative decisions. The concept, intention, restraint, and those small imperfections are often what give a piece its character.

Absolutely. Some parts of the creative process should always stay human. AI can assist with the idea, but the creative direction and intention still come from us.

Yess!! Totally agree. Generative AI from a to a is a Nono for me. However, using ai to streamline repetitive mundane tasks that would’ve otherwise taken hours? Hell yes, let’s work with technology yet simultaneously protect our artistry ❤️
Because art was never valuable simply for the image at the end. It's about the message it sends.
A machine can draw from an almost unimaginable reservoir of visual information, recombining styles, shapes, compositions, colors, and conventions at your request. What it cannot...
Cuz AI generated stuff still feels soulless
For me, it's definitely the story-driven design decisions and precise vector craftsmanship. AI can give you a pretty image, but it doesn't understand why a curve sits in a specific spot or how it will actually look on physical packaging materials. That conscious human touch is what keeps design authentic!

Lately, I’ve been sitting with this undeniably strong urge to push my work to new heights, so I decided to make this piece with LUSH's knot wraps in mind.
I have always been a big fan of the brand’s art direction, their commitment to sustainability and their ongoing campaign against animal testing. It only felt right to create a pattern that put animals front and centre.

Putting the animals front and center given LUSH's stance against animal testing is such a smart conceptual thread, it's not just a pretty pattern, it actually says something. A piece this dense must take forever to get the repeat tiling seamlessly, how long did this one take start to finish?
Visual identity work done for Luigi's Pizza, a traditional Italian pizzeria located in the United States. Creation of the logo and other graphic materials such as boxes, t-shirts, and stickers.
Pizzeria branding is so much fun once physical goods enter the picture, boxes and shirts and stickers mean the whole system actually gets touched and worn, not just looked at on a screen. Did the logo come first and everything else followed from it, or did you design the full set together from the start?
How do you keep a brand's promise of calm intact once real users start clicking through checkout?
Mudita builds minimalist devices around one idea: technology that harmonizes with your life instead of competing for your attention. The brandbook lays that promise out in detail - tone, restraint, what the brand should never feel like. My job was carrying that same discipline into the product itself.
I worked across the checkout flow, the storefront and category browsing, and the product page above the fold - three surfaces where small frictions had quietly built up against the brand's own case for calm. The brandbook gave the rules. The UI work was making sure those rules survived contact with a real cart and a real user.
For the case study visuals, I used AI for the first time to produce product footage 🤖 - wind moving through a scene, an object drifting in place. Higgsfield was genuinely a good way to learn that workflow fast.
