After years of building brands online, here’s what I’ve realised actually moves the needle:
- Consistency beats volume. Posting every day means nothing if the content lacks direction. Sustainable content always outperforms burnout.
- Visibility doesn’t equal conversion. You can get millions of views and still struggle to build trust. Attention is easy. Positioning is harder.
- You do not need to be everywhere. Most brands spread themselves too thin. I’d rather build a strong presence on 1 - 2 platforms than post mediocre content across five.
- Followers are a vanity metric without community. A smaller audience that engages, trusts you and buys from you is far more valuable than inflated numbers with no connection behind them.
- Perfection kills personality. Some of the highest-converting content I’ve worked on wasn’t the most polished. People connect with people, not overly curated grids.
The biggest shift for me has been focusing less on “looking like a brand” and more on building one people actually remember. Would you agree?
