Would you rather have more views but less engagement, or more engagement but fewer views?
I'd pick the second one every time, and I have the numbers to explain why.
Over the last five months as content strategist for WayMaker Media (contracted by March Forth Agency), a Black culture editorial brand, views went down.
Engagement went up 72.5%. Shares up 149%. Net new followers up 9k+. which is 102.4%.
Fewer people scrolling past. Far more people actually doing something.

Engagement up 72.5% and shares up 149% while views dropped is a great reminder that vanity metrics and actual traction aren't the same thing. Curious what changed in the content itself to get people to stop scrolling and start sharing.
As a social media Strategist I would pick more engagement over more views
More engagement simply means the content resonates with target audience or followers. Anybody can views something whether it resonates with them or not

Couldn't agree me, I'd rather have a small but engaged audience who buy into my product or services vs huge views and a big following but they are all empty watchers.
