I'm a firm believer that the presence of frustration is equally the presence of the opportunity to create something greater, simpler, and delightful. It was clear that users and the team hated their canvas, it stopped creative flow, the information architecture wasn't responsive to the task at hand, and a few more to name. Naturally, the new direction allowed for larger canvas sizes across all phone models (big win for SE users), simplifying the UI by minimizing elements on the screen thanks to responsive tooling based on your current activity.
