Yoachim "Forest" – Concept Art & Live Visuals

Overview
I collaborated on the official music video for Yoachim, an electronic and synth-pop artist connected to the German clubbing scene. The project required an innovative approach to Visual Storytelling for his single “Forest.” Instead of relying on standard post-production green screens, we created the “Morphic Forest”, a dynamic, animated environment designed to be a direct visual manifestation of the protagonist's internal emotional state.
My Role & The Process
As the Concept Artist and Creative Director for the visual backdrop, my primary responsibility was developing the core narrative: a surreal forest that organically builds, shifting and evolving behind the character. Working in close Creative Collaboration with a lead animator, I provided the Animation Direction to ensure the generated assets perfectly matched the song's melancholic, electronic mood.
The execution relied heavily on Real-Time Visuals and Projection Mapping. Rather than compositing the forest in post-production, I performed live VJ-ing (live visual zapping) onto a rear projection screen directly on the physical film set. I manipulated the animated sequences in real-time, syncing the visual growth of the forest perfectly with the rhythm of the track and the actor's performance during the actual shoot.
The Outcome
This in-camera approach provided an authentic, immersive lighting environment and a unique aesthetic for the music video. The project highlights my ability to merge conceptual Digital Art with live Media Production, creating innovative, audio-reactive visual experiences.
