Deutschland zahlt digital website design

Initiative by Mastercard, Visa, and partners (e.g., Commerz Globalpay, Deutsche Bank, Flatpay, SumUp, Unzer, VR Payment) to promote digital payments in Germany.
Goals: Enable small merchants to trial card/mobile payments free for 12 months up to €50,000 turnover; address low terminal density (18 per 1,000 people vs. Poland's 36); empower consumer choice in payments.
Role: Designed neutral, informative website to educate merchants, debunk myths, and facilitate partner selection without bias.
Key Design Decisions
Color Palette: Neutral base (whites, grays) with a non-brand highlight color (e.g., teal/purple) to avoid favoring any partner's colors (Mastercard red, Visa blue), ensuring equality.
Layout: Hierarchical sections for clarity—header intro, partner chooser, myth-busting, FAQs—promoting easy navigation for small businesses.
Typography: Clean sans-serif fonts for readability and modern professionalism.
Imagery: Relatable photos of payment scenarios (smartphone/watch in stores, merchants at desks) to build trust without corporate branding.
Neutrality Elements: Equal logo display in partner section; uniform 12-month free offer descriptions; impartial selection process to foster fairness among collaborators.
Overall Style: User-friendly, accessible, focused on education and action, aligning with initiative's inclusive goals.
