Exotic Vaults is a next-generation protocol enabling users to trade illiquid alternative investments onchain.
The mission was to transform traditionally exclusive real-world assets (RWAs) like fine art, luxury watches, and rare wines into accessible, tokenised investment vaults. The goal: make these historically high-barrier markets tradable, secure, and liquid—directly from a blockchain-powered platform.
Challenge
The Exotic Vaults product needed to overcome core friction points in the RWA landscape:
Inefficient Secondary Markets: Selling fractionalised shares lacked liquidity and transparency.
Complexity of Onboarding: Users unfamiliar with DeFi or asset tokenisation faced steep learning curves.
Trust and Transparency: Bringing offline assets into the digital world raised concerns about valuation, custody, and credibility.
Scalability of Tradable Assets: Existing platforms couldn’t efficiently support a wide range of asset types (watches, wines, collectibles, art, etc.).
Solution
The product and design teams took a hybrid approach, merging Web3 technology with intuitive UX:
Visual Language & Branding:
A bold black-and-gold theme to represent exclusivity, luxury, and trust.
Geometric backgrounds and glowing accents to hint at tech-forward elegance.
Educational Flow & Feature Breakdown:
Progressive education (What is an Exotic Asset? Why Vaults? What are the returns?) helps onboard traditional investors into DeFi.
Key metrics (returns, TVL, % ROI) visualised to convey performance at a glance.
Community-First UX:
Embedded callouts to “Join our Community” and Telegram encourage user trust and peer-driven validation.
Product Scaling Elements:
Support for 10+ asset classes.
Vault statistics and milestones (e.g., €5M+ protocol value, 100M+ token supply) enhance social proof.
Feature roadmap visually aligned to Q timelines for transparency and momentum.
Compliance & Clarity:
Integrated whitepaper links, DAO voting previews, and decentralisation cues reflect forward planning around regulation and governance.
Impact
The design and development work unlocked rapid traction:
