Behind the Infographic

This infographic was made as a project that would be used by the Red Cross to inform people about wildfires and what to have ready. The bright colors catch the eye when passing for both adults and children. It was necessary to ensure each item would be quickly and easily recognized so that anyone passing by, regardless of language or age, would understand.
Because of their simplicity, the posters and brochures could be placed in schools, offices, bus benches, and more. This would ensure that everyone in the area could attain the needed information and better prepare in case of a disaster, which is the primary goal.

Inspiration

The soft geometric style was chosen as the primary illustration style because this style lets you make easily recognizable items without getting too caught up in the itty bitty details. This style provides enough detail to know what the item is and give some dimension without becoming distracting. The items are laid out nice and neat in 90-degree turns nested together, otherwise known as knolling. The knolling allows for all of the various equipment to be displayed while looking like a cohesive group despite some items being vastly different and otherwise seeming out of place.
