Introduction:

Optimus by Afrinvest is a next-generation Fintech solution that empowers users to effortlessly save, invest and spend their money. With Optimus, users can invest in the best investment portfolio types from around the world, with a user-friendly platform that replaces the traditional approach to asset management. Afrinvest's decades of experience in managing the assets and investment portfolios of high net worth individuals underpins the design of Optimus, which combines cutting-edge digital technology with human expertise to deliver superior investment outcomes. Optimus has processed a transaction volume of over $2 million and has over $600,000 Assets under management (AUM) since the product’s launch.

Goal

Our primary goal was to create a user-friendly platform that would build trust and encourage users to save, invest, and spend their money with Optimus. To achieve this, we focused on designing a seamless onboarding experience that would guide users through the various features of the product, while also creating an engaging interface that would make it easy for them to track their payments, save for personal goals, and plan their financial future.

We also aimed to leverage Afrinvest's expertise in asset management to offer users the best investment portfolio types from around the world, all on one simple and secure platform.



Seamless Onboarding

One of the key design challenges was creating a seamless onboarding experience that would help users easily transition through the flows while getting a basic understanding of the Optimus experience.

Save and Invest with no limits

Optimus was designed to give users the tools they need to keep track of their payments, guide them to save for personal goals, make investment decisions, and plan their financial future.

Refer friends and earn money

The further the goal of Optimus, we built a feature to help users make an extra income when they refer friends and family to join Optimus. This has resulted in a significant increase in signups by over 200% since the launch of this feature, indicating its effectiveness in furthering the mission of Optimus.





Web App

I was responsible for designing the web app with a focus on creating a delightful user experience. To ensure that the app was accessible to all users, I worked on the mobile responsiveness of each screen. With 92.1% of internet users accessing the web from their mobile devices, mobile responsiveness was a crucial aspect of our design process.





Impact

Optimus has recorded an increase in adoption rate of over 20% since the launch of the Referral feature.

Optimus has achieved a remarkable height, processing over $2 million worth of transaction volume in the past months with over 20,000 active users.

Optimus has since recorded over $600,000 in Assets under management (AuM) which is a step in the right direction of the goal of $3 million set by the team.
