Crafting a Visual Identity and UI for Decentralized AI Startup

Overview

SwarmZero, formerly Hive Network, is a decentralized AI startup focused on building trustless and secure AI agents to transform Web3/Web2 engagement with AI. They envision a world where AI interactions are transparent, secure, and private, empowering crypto adoption on a mass scale.

Ahead of their alpha launch at ETHDenver, SwarmZero challenged me with a one-week timeline to develop a compelling proof-of-concept UI and a logo that would capture their brand and technology vision.

Process & Methodology

Using a rapid "early and often" iteration cycle, I collaborated closely with SwarmZero's team via Discord and Google Meet. This approach allowed us to refine the design quickly, ensuring that both visuals and functionality aligned with their goals.

Discovery

The project began with a competitive review and a discovery workshop with SwarmZero’s founder. Through this process, we clarified the brand’s visual language and set a tone of boldness and innovation. We established a vibrant colour scheme—yellow, orange, silver, and black—and integrated elements like glassmorphism, gradients, and 3D graphics to create a UI that feels modern and aligned with crypto aesthetics.

Logo Design

In designing the logo for SwarmZero, I aimed to create a visual identity that embodies their values of innovation, interconnectedness, and trust. I developed a vibrant colour palette that reflects the energy and dynamism of their mission, using colours that resonate with a tech-savvy audience and the principles of decentralization.

Working closely with the founder, who preferred a bold, dark mode aesthetic, we brainstormed concepts symbolizing the network of AI agents within SwarmZero’s ecosystem. The final logo features hexagonal shapes reminiscent of honeycomb cells, representing the interconnected nature of the agents and the hive-like collaboration that drives their technology. This design captures SwarmZero's identity and positions it as a leader in the decentralized AI space.

UI Design

With the logo and brand colours set, I created a high-fidelity UI based on conceptual wireframes provided by SwarmZero's founder. The design prioritizes user experience with a sleek, dark mode interface and includes key features: the Agents Hub dashboard, agent messaging, agent creation, and a unique “swarming” feature for collaborative workflows.

Outcome and Impact

In just five days, I delivered a fully realized proof of concept UI and logo, enabling SwarmZero to make an impactful debut at ETHDenver. This foundation not only attracted user interest but also positioned SwarmZero for growth and investor engagement.
