Design and Implementation of a Conversion Focused Email Template for HelpMat
Overview
HelpMat is a mobile enabled marketplace that connects users with trusted local artisans, where payment is released only after successful job completion.
The objective of this project was to design a promotional marketing email template focused on customer acquisition and direct response optimization, turning readers into platform users.
My Role

I was responsible for:
Defining the conversion goal and CTA hierarchy
Crafting benefit driven messaging structure
Designing the visual layout and brand alignment
Building and implementing the template
Ensuring responsiveness and cross client compatibility
Optimizing for direct response outcomes
Tools Used
Stripo for modular email design, AI assisted copy refinement, and responsive layout building
Mailchimp for ESP compatibility and campaign distribution
Gmail for client preview testing
Cross device preview testing across 90 plus client combinations within Stripo
Stripo was selected for its modular system, scalability, and seamless export capabilities.
Design Strategy and Key Decisions
1. Clarity Over Complexity
The headline immediately communicates trust and skill to reduce hesitation. Supporting copy reinforces reliability and quality assurance.
Decision:
Prioritized message clarity and hierarchy over decorative complexity.
Tradeoff:
Reduced experimental design elements in favor of higher comprehension and faster decision making.
2. Single Dominant CTA for DRO
The “Get Started” button was placed prominently above the fold.
Decision:
Used a single primary CTA to focus attention and increase click through probability.
Tradeoff:
Eliminated secondary CTAs such as “Learn More” to avoid divided attention and conversion leakage.
3. Trust Driven Visual Direction
Included approachable artisan illustration to humanize the platform and build emotional relatability.
Decision:
Chose friendly brand aligned visuals to strengthen trust signals.
Tradeoff:
Opted for scalable illustration assets instead of photography to maintain production efficiency and brand consistency.
4. Modular and Scalable Implementation
The template was built using a modular structure inside Stripo to ensure:
Easy future campaign reuse
Fast production cycles
Cross client stability
Responsive performance
Decision:
Designed for long term scalability rather than one off campaign execution.
Tradeoff:
Limited advanced interactivity to protect rendering consistency across email clients.
