Novel art project for Jody Summers' sci-fi thriller series, "The Mayan Legacy" and its sequel "Late Prophecy." The books center on ancient Mayan prophecy meeting modern existential threat: a celestial anomaly that could rewrite human history. The brief was to create cover art that sold both the epic scale and the intimate dread: something that felt like a blockbuster, but with a brain. Dark space, fractured calendars, celestial fire, and that ominous feeling when history itself decides it's done with you.

THE COVER

The final cover design centers around the iconic Mayan calendar stone fractured by celestial event. The color palette is earthy, fiery, and cosmic: golden stone, burning orange energy trails, and deep space black. The font treatment emphasizes gravity and scale: authoritative, bold, and unmistakably cinematic. The covers needed to feel like they belonged on the New York Times bestseller list and a dark fantasy shelf at the same time.
