THE BRIEF
Passion project album cover concept for Goodbye June's latest album, "Deep In The Trouble." No client brief, just pure creative interpretation of the sound, the lyrics, and the title.
THE CONCEPT
The album title "Deep In The Trouble" isn't just a metaphor. I envisioned it literally: a worn-out man in a muddy Southern watering hole at night, wading through his problems. Behind him, a church burns. If you find yourself in that scene in the South, you're not just in trouble, you're deep in it. I wanted to capture that feeling: the weight of work stress, family drama, money problems, addiction, all stacking at once. The imagery is Southern Gothic meets dark cinematic storytelling.
FINAL RESULT
The final album cover captures that atmosphere: dark, cinematic, and unmistakably Southern. This project was a creative exploration in building a visual world around a title and a sound.

This project is my take on Goodbye June’s latest album, “Deep In The Trouble.” I’ve been listening to these guys for years, so I wanted to build a concept piece as a passion project. When I hear that title, I don’t think vague “emotional journey” – I think being in deep shit: work stress, family drama, money problems, addiction, all of it stacking at once. To visualize that, I went with an old-time Southern scene: a worn-out man wading through a muddy watering hole at night, torch in hand, with a church burning behind him. If you ever find yourself in that situation in the South, you’re not just in trouble – you’re deep in the trouble.
