This project explores how micro-interactions can improve user delight in digital products. I designed and animated a confetti celebration effect using Rive, optimized for web and mobile experiences. The goal was to create a lightweight, responsive, and scalable animation that elevates success states, rewards, and key moments in an interface.

I sketched three possible styles:

Burst-out confetti

Gravity-based falling confetti

Spiral celebrations

I chose a hybrid of burst + falling for more energy.

I created the vector shapes directly in Rive, defined a bright and energetic color palette, and grouped the shapes for easier control during animation.

For the motion, I animated position, rotation, scale, and opacity, added slight timing offsets for realism, and adjusted the velocity and spread to create a natural burst effect.

Finally, I set up a state machine with a “Celebrate” trigger linked to the animation timeline, allowing developers to activate the confetti programmatically whenever a success event occurs.
