Audiovisual City is a digital magazine dedicated to exploring and promoting international audiovisual culture. From 2011 to 2021, it served as a platform for artists, creators, and enthusiasts, showcasing cutting-edge audiovisual art, immersive installations, and innovative performances. With in-depth interviews, event coverage, and reviews, Audiovisual City connected a global community passionate about the intersection of sound, light, and technology.

The key question for this project was how can I transform a website from 2011 into something that feels like a digital magazine and not a blog? To achieve this goal, the project included logo redesign, rebrand and website design.

For Marco, the client, Audiovisual City is his baby, so I worked closely with him from start to finish to make sure that he was comfortable with the whole process. With a long web history, it was extremely important that we could adapt the existing content well. There was a heavy focus on ways of making smaller images adapt to the new design as well as the use of a tagging system to really appreciate the extent of the content.

The project started with basic UX research, to discover what the readers were looking for and accessing most.
