I was thrilled to take charge of social media marketing for the Hivos World Food Fair event, in partnership with EatOut Kenya. I knew this was an incredible opportunity to educate Kenyan consumers about indigenous foods and healthy diets. To achieve this, I crafted a comprehensive social media strategy that aimed to drive awareness and attendance for both the restaurant activations and vendor fair.
My team and I created engaging social media content, highlighting unique features of the event to entice visitors. We managed live coverage of the events on social media, keeping followers updated in real-time. I also ran targeted Google, Facebook, and Instagram ads, optimizing ad spend to maximize ROI for both EatOut Kenya and Hivos. And the results were phenomenal! We were able to generate significant interest and foot traffic to both the restaurant activations and vendor fair, making it a successful event.
Copywriting Lead
As the Copywriting Lead for the Hivos World Food Fair event, I was tasked with crafting compelling copy to promote the event and drive attendance. To achieve this, I developed creative copy that highlighted the uniqueness of both the restaurant activations and vendor fair. I wrote engaging social media captions and email marketing copy, using my playful copywriting skills to pique the interest of Kenyan consumers.
My team and I also produced press releases and other written materials to secure media coverage, which helped generate buzz and increase foot traffic to the event. We were thrilled to see a positive sentiment online, with many attendees raving about the event and sharing their experiences on social media.
Event Coverage Lead
As the Event Coverage Lead for the Hivos World Food Fair event, I was responsible for managing live coverage of the event on social media and producing engaging video content. I was excited to capture and share the key moments of the event with the world.
I conducted on-site interviews with vendors and attendees, gathering testimonials about the unique experience of the event. I also created a comprehensive post-event recap, showcasing the event's success in generating significant foot traffic to both the restaurant activations and vendor fair. We were thrilled to see a positive sentiment online, with many attendees sharing their experiences and urging others to attend similar events in the future.
