Overview:

This project aimed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the stock-take process in the logistic storeroom. The manual stock-take process, which took more than 60 minutes and was prone to human error, needed to be optimized.

Objectives:

Reduce stock-take time to less than 10 minutes per event.
Achieve 100% inventory stock accuracy.

Approach:

Implement RFID technology to automate the stock-take process.
Integrate RFID with the existing inventory management system for real-time tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

Led a cross-functional team to analyze the current stock-take process and identify inefficiencies.
Developed a project charter and detailed project plan outlining objectives, scope, and timeline.
Coordinated the installation of RFID readers and the integration of RFID tags into the inventory system.
Conducted training sessions for logistics staff on the new RFID-based stock-take process.
Monitored and reported on project progress and performance metrics to senior management.

Results:

Stock-take time reduced from 60 minutes to an average of 8 minutes.
Inventory accuracy improved to consistently achieve 100%.
Significant reduction in man-hours required for stock-take, leading to increased productivity.
