My client was responsible for the procurement, management and retirement of key utilities infrastructure. Before funding could be released to the client, any procurement activities required approval from the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and an additional external organisation. I led and shaped the delivery of multi-million pound business cases which enabled the client to have confidence in their decision making and secure the funding for their critical procurements.
I achieved this by:
Defining, directing and authoring business case content at increasing levels of maturity aligning with client governance processes,
Eliciting and capturing business needs from stakeholders by performing document reviews and hosting stakeholder interviews and workshops,
Performing qualitative and quantitative options analysis, drawing on financial and economic analysis where required to assess affordability and cost-benefits,
Collaborating closely with key stakeholders to identify critical contractual and management arrangements for procurement and delivery,
Hosting reviews with senior internal stakeholders and leading meetings with the external approval body,
Managing the delivery of multiple business cases simultaneously,
Supporting the client with recruitment activities and the handover to a permanent client team.
