Lucida AI - Onboarding

Lucida AI is a language learning app built around conversational AI. The goal of this project was to redesign the onboarding experience to make it feel less like account setup and more like the beginning of an actual conversation.

Most language apps start with forms, dropdowns, and generic questionnaires. I wanted Lucida to feel more personal from the very first interaction.

I redesigned the onboarding around the idea of progressive personalization.

Instead of showing all the setup upfront, the experience gradually adapts itself through small conversational moments, visual feedback, and contextual screens.

The onboarding becomes part setup flow, part product demo.

Users immediately get a sense of:

how the AI behaves

how personalized the experience feels

how the product could fit into their everyday life

Rather than using plain lists or flags, I created collectible stamp-inspired cards for each language.

The goal was to make choosing a language feel aspirational and culturally connected rather than purely functional.

Each card combines:

landmarks

local greetings

soft gradients

travel-inspired visuals

This helped set the tone for the rest of the experience immediately.
