Dove Day 2024 – Self-Esteem Project

Project Overview

To mark the 10th anniversary of Dove Day, Dove expanded its Self-Esteem Project, a global initiative to help youth develop a positive body image and self-worth. In Puerto Rico, the focus was on delivering this message through school visits and inclusive programming that celebrated diversity and empowerment—especially young girls.

My Role

As the PR Strategist leading the Puerto Rico activation, I was responsible for:
Coordinating outreach and logistics with 9 local elementary schools (public and private)
Managing the press release and PR distribution
Ensuring alignment with Dove’s global messaging on self-esteem and empowerment
Facilitating visits by high-profile figures to amplify media and emotional impact
Supporting storytelling efforts and internal documentation

Strategic Touchpoints

Targeted school outreach to reach 285 students ages 8–12
Participation from Celimar Rivera, who led a visit to Colegio San Gabriel in sign language—highlighting inclusivity
Collaboration with Yizette Cifredo at Colegio Puertorriqueño de Niñas in honor of the International Day of the Girl
Customized messaging based on each school’s profile and student needs

Impact

285 students reached through interactive self-esteem sessions
9 schools engaged across both public and private sectors
Media and institutional recognition for Dove’s inclusive and empowering messaging
Strengthened brand affinity by connecting Dove’s global mission with local communities

Why It Matters

This campaign was a reminder that real impact starts young. As a strategist, I helped bring Dove’s purpose to life by merging PR with community outreach—ensuring the message wasn’t just heard, but felt. Coordinating logistics and aligning storytelling across all fronts gave me hands-on experience in cause-driven brand engagement.
