AvatarMe – Fashion Shopping Reimagined Through Virtual Avatars
🚀 Project Overview
AvatarMe is a futuristic fashion-tech add on feature using AI and photorealistic avatars to reinvent how users shop for clothing online. The vision: eliminate the guesswork from online shopping by letting users create a personalized avatar, virtually try on garments, and get AI-powered style suggestions in real-time.
This project focused on crafting a mobile-first user experience that felt futuristic, highly visual, and frictionless — all while aligning with emerging behaviors in Gen Z fashion consumption.
🎯 The Design Challenge
Online shopping lacks one critical element: personal confidence in fit and style. AvatarMe was designed to solve key problems:
Shoppers can't visualize how clothing will look on them
Sizing and body-fit frustration causes high return rates
Most fashion apps are either too generic or too gimmicky
Lack of personalization
Goal: Design a mobile interface that feels realistic, personal, and immersive — powered by avatars and AI.
🎨 My Role
As the team lead in this project , I handled the full project scope:
User research (survey + behavior patterns)
UX flows and wireframes
High-fidelity UI Design (mobile-first in Figma)
Avatar builder interface + styling flow
Visual direction and presentation deck
💡 Design Approach
🧍♀️ 1. Avatar Try-On Made Trustworthy
Realistic avatar creation was at the core of the app. I designed a flow where users could quickly scan themselves, adjust key traits (skin, body type), and preview clothing with lighting and pose adjustments.
🧭 2. From Exploration to Checkout
A conversion-focused journey:
Try-ons + swipeable outfit suggestions
Style breakdowns from AI
Tap-to-save and share looks
Quick checkout with real-time fit suggestions
🎮 3. A Playful, Premium Look
