Power BI Semantic Model & Reporting Architecture
The challenge Dashboards become slow, inconsistent, and difficult to maintain when business definitions are embedded separately in individual visuals or reports. A reliable analytics solution needs a model that creates one consistent source for measures, relationships, filters, and reporting logic.
The solution I designed a structured Power BI semantic model that separates core business entities, reporting dimensions, and reusable calculations. The architecture supports executive summaries, investigation analytics, and collections performance while keeping KPI definitions consistent across pages.
My contribution • Organized fact and dimension relationships for clear analytical paths • Designed reusable measures and KPI logic • Reduced duplicated calculations across reporting views • Structured the model for maintainability and future expansion • Connected technical architecture to practical business questions • Documented the model so future changes are easier to manage
Result A stronger reporting foundation that improves consistency, simplifies dashboard development, and makes it easier to extend analytics without rebuilding core logic.
