Idea behind this App(The Necessity)

Subscription fatigue is a real problem! Many users struggle to keep track of their active subscriptions across different platforms. Even i faced this issue when i was checking till when my Amazon Prime Subscription was valid, I couldn’t find it in the Prime App itself i had to go to the Amzon Shopping App and had to find it there and check. Honestly it was frustrating when you couldn’t find such a simple thing and this happens with other apps too. So, to tackle this issue and make subscriptions trackable easily at one place I created “Submate”. A Subscription Manager App that manages your subscription at one place one place.

Research 👨‍💻

To understand user behaviour i did a survey with my friends and asked them how do they manage and track their Subcriptions and identified the pain points. This is the response I got from them :

1. Manual Tracking:

User Behavior: Many users manually track their subscriptions using spreadsheets, notes, or calendar reminders.

Pain Points:

Time-consuming: Keeping track of multiple subscriptions manually can be laborious and time-consuming.
Prone to errors: Relying on manual methods increases the likelihood of missing renewal dates or forgetting about subscriptions.
Lack of centralization: Information about subscriptions may be scattered across various platforms and documents, making it challenging to get a comprehensive overview.

2. Email Notification:

User Behavior: Some users rely on email notifications from subscription services to manage their subscriptions.

Pain Points:

Cluttered inbox: Subscription-related emails can clutter users’ inboxes, making it easy to overlook important notifications.
Lack of customization: Users may receive notifications for every minor update or promotional offer, leading to information overload.
Limited visibility: Email notifications may not provide a holistic view of all subscriptions, making it difficult for users to track their overall spending and usage.

3. Platform-Specific Apps:

User Behavior: Users may use individual apps or websites for each subscription service to manage their accounts.

Pain Points:

Fragmented experience: Switching between multiple apps or websites to manage subscriptions can be inconvenient and inefficient.
Inconsistent interfaces: Each platform may have a different user interface and navigation structure, leading to a disjointed user experience.
Limited functionality: Some subscription management features may be lacking or buried within the platform’s interface, making it difficult for users to perform common tasks such as canceling or pausing subscriptions.

Gamification 🕹️

Impleted Gamification in App to increase the User Retention rate and enhance User Engagement.
Points,Rewards & Progress bar: Users earn points or rewards for completing tasks or achieving goals within the system. This encourages users to engage more deeply with the product or service.
Added a currency for the app called coins which can be earned by the user by completing some task, coins can be later redeemed for rewards. Also added a progress bar which shows how much coins the user has earned out of 500(Maximum Limit).
After thorough research i came up with possible solution ideas and made some basic wireframes of the App.

Final Design💥

Remember earlier we noticed that some users keep track of subscriptions through email, which could make inbox clutteres and can have lack of visibilty.
We got a solution by pushing notifications which will remind the users to renew their subscription when the validity is about to Expire.

Conclusion⚡

“Submate” is a much-needed solution to the growing problem of subscription fatigue. With the increasing number of subscription-based services available, users often find it challenging to keep track of their active subscriptions across different platforms.
By creating a centralized platform like “Submate,” users can easily manage all their subscriptions in one place, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple apps or websites. This not only saves time and effort but also reduces the likelihood of missed payments or forgotten subscriptions.
In conclusion, “Submate” offers a user-friendly solution to streamline subscription management, providing users with greater control and peace of mind over their financial commitments. By simplifying the subscription tracking process, “Submate” aims to alleviate subscription fatigue and enhance the overall user experience in an increasingly subscription-driven digital landscape.
