A Bold, Holistic Rebrand for Glow Salon: Transforming the Salon Experience

You know those salons that just get you the moment you walk in? That’s Glow. Rooted in empowerment, inclusivity, and unapologetic boldness, Glow needed a brand that felt like more than a salon; it needed to be a whole experience. With a commitment to vegan, cruelty-free, and holistic beauty, the rebrand had to become a sanctuary of transformation, community, and fierce self-expression.
And it worked.
Since the rebrand, Glow has placed Top 10 in the UK Hair & Beauty Awards, doubled their team size, increased sales by 40%+, and sparked a wave of new opportunities, including major PR moments they can’t wait to reveal.

Glow isn’t a place you go - it’s a place you feel. When owner Niki and I sat down at the beginning, she had one goal, to create a brand that feels like home for the Glow Gang.
Not corporate. Not cookie-cutter beauty. Not clean girl wellness. But a space that feels like a nurturing, rebellious, holistic escape, where every client is seen, heard, and uplifted.
This rebrand was never just about a logo or colour palette. It was a complete reimagining of what a modern, inclusive, spiritually grounded beauty space could be.

Design Elements That Speak to the Soul of Glow

A Logo With Meaning

Glow’s emblem centres on a bold, symbolic snake, representing transformation, healing, and the shedding of old layers. And that subtle tuck of the “O” into the “L”? A visual embrace. A hug. A reminder of Glow’s core message: you are held here.

A Colour Palette With Edge & Warmth

Glow’s palette blends unapologetic vibrancy with grounded, earthy tones:
An almost-white blue for clarity
A bright yellow for electric energy
A deep brown for grounding and sophistication
A burnt orange for passion and warmth
A creamy neutrals for softness and approachability
Together, they create a palette that is bold, alternative, and deeply welcoming; a perfect fit for Glow’s holistic ethos.

Typography That Balances Rebellion & Care

Glow’s typographic voice is a trio of personality and precision:
Blackletter headings for edge and attitude
Sophisticated serif subheads for grounding elegance
Clean sans-serif body copy for warmth and readability
This balance visually mirrors Glow’s essence: bold expression wrapped in nurturing support.

Illustrations With Attitude

Custom illustrations weave energy, creativity, and play into every touchpoint, making the brand instantly recognisable and deeply personal.

A Window Decal With a Message

Glow’s snake 'G' sub-mark paired with 'Being different is what makes you glow' isn’t just signage, it’s a statement of identity. A message to the community that this is a space for individuality, empowerment, and transformation.
The rich brown-to-neutral fade on the windows adds a warm, welcoming depth that turns the exterior into an experience of its own.

A Brand Carried Into Every Touchpoint

Glow’s website became an online sanctuary; bold, intuitive, mobile-first, and designed to mirror the in-salon experience. Clients can explore services, book treatments, shop merch, and soak up Glow’s energy effortlessly.
A major priority for Glow’s website was ensuring it functioned beautifully on mobile. With the majority of salon clients browsing, booking, and exploring on their phones, the site needed to feel intuitive, fast, and fully immersive on smaller screens.
Instead of creating a desktop site and shrinking it down, I designed Glow’s entire digital experience mobile-first - meaning every layout, interaction, and piece of content was built to shine on handheld devices. The result is a seamless, on-the-go experience where clients can browse services, shop merch, and book appointments effortlessly, no pinching, zooming, or hunting required. This approach not only reflects how real clients interact with Glow, but dramatically improves accessibility, usability, and conversion.

Social Media

Not random salon snapshots, but branded storytelling. Seasonal templates, cohesive visuals, and messaging that carries Glow’s voice: empowering, alternative, expressive. Followers feel the vibe before they’ve even visited.

Salon Refurbishment & Signage

Brand ≠ logo. Brand = experience. We extended Glow’s identity into their physical space, from window decals to signage, from wallpaper to nail benches, every element of the salon nods back to the brand's soul, creating an environment that fully embodies the new brand.

Merchandise

Glow’s merch line became a cult favourite instantly. Tees, hoodies, beanies; all featuring bold, holistic designs printed on vegan materials. For clients, it’s wearable empowerment. For Glow, it’s a revenue booster and brand amplifier.

Print Collateral

Appointment cards, gift cards, menus, and more; all designed with that unmistakeable Glow energy. Every detail aligned. Every touchpoint intentional.
