Podcast apps are built for playback, not for memory. You hear a sentence worth keeping while driving, cooking, or walking, and by the time you can write it down you have the gist and none of the words.
PodMark closes that gap with one gesture. Share the episode from whatever player you already use, and PodMark opens a transcript at the timestamp you were listening to. Highlight the sentence, colour it, tag it, drop it in a collection. Search it six months later.
We handled both halves of the work: the brand, then the product built on top of it.
An audio app that is really a reading app
The input is a podcast. Everything after the first tap is reading, and reading has decades of solved problems attached to it.
So the reference set was e-readers and highlight managers rather than podcast apps. Those apps have already settled questions a podcast app has never had to ask: how long a line runs before the eye loses its place, what a reader needs to control before sitting with text for twenty minutes, what a saved passage should look like when you meet it again a year later.
