A Book Discovery & Reader App

This is a self-initiated product design project exploring what a calm, distraction-free reading experience could look like when built without ads, algorithms, or engagement pressure. The focus was on creating a space where readers can discover and enjoy books without noise.
The app uses genre-first discovery to help users quickly browse stories based on mood and interest, rather than relying on complex filters or recommendations. Search is intentionally simple, supporting only book titles and author names to reduce cognitive load and decision fatigue.
Instead of long synopses, preview snippets are used throughout the experience to help readers connect with a book’s writing style before committing to it. The reading interface is designed for comfort and immersion, with customizable font size, themes, bookmarks, and chapter navigation, while keeping distractions hidden.
