OVERVIEW

FitBill is a responsive app that simplifies billing, bookings, and client management for fitness trainers. I conducted user research, crafted information architecture, and iteratively refined the design. The goal was to address the overwhelming nature of managing client interactions while allowing trainers to focus on client progress. Utilizing the Double Diamond Strategy, I divided the design process into Discover, Define, Deliver, and Develop stages, ensuring a clear focus on project objectives.

RESEARCH PHASE

This stage involved a competitive analysis of two direct competitors (Trainerize & MindBody) alongside with a qualitative research through user interviews, quantitative research by user online survey.

DEFINE PHASE

After the Research phase, I re-examined my assumptions based on the insights from the User Interviews.
It was clear that:
Users commonly utilise multiple platforms to handle their client management tasks. This indicates a need for a more unified and streamlined solution that centralises these activities.
Many people are spending a lot of time double-checking payments one by one, and this is taking away valuable time they could use for other work tasks. It's clear that there's a big need for a system that can do this checking automatically and save time.
Users express a need for real-time payment tracking and notifications. They don't just want to know when payments are on time; they also want to quickly deal with late payments. These features are really important for making it easier to handle payments.

DESIGN PHASE

With all the insights, I created user-flow and site map which informed my design thinking in developing the most desirable product.
Following this, it was a time to turn paper wireframes into a responsive digital prototypes.

NEXT STAGE

The Tax category has been left out of the primary features designed so far. The next iteration of Fit Bill will concentrate on designing, testing and improving the Tax feature, starting with the following hypothesis:
Providing a straightforward way of selecting and exporting income history, will make our users find a relieve in handling the daunting accounting side of the business.
This assumption will be tested by seeing how many people are utilizing this feature, especially towards the end of the tax year.
The Tax feature will be designed as a clickable high-fidelity prototype. A usability test will be conducted with paying a particular attention on what are users’ expectations:
• Do they want to see the whole year earnings or monthly breakdown? • Where can they find and filter results? • Are files easy to export?
