Project Overview
Onoriode is a skilled brand designer with over seven years of experience. With his expertise, he decided it was time to create his own brand identity. Once he defined his brand identity and assets, he realized something was missing—a personal portfolio website.
This website would showcase his work while reflecting his personality and style. He reached out to me, and we worked together to define his goals for the site.
Project Goals
The goal was to create a simple portfolio with seamless navigations that reflects the designer’s personality & style. We needed the design minimal with a dark theme and three colors—white, black, and yellow. We also wanted to tell the designer’s story through visuals and text while showcasing past work with high-quality images. Using Framer’s no-code tools, we aimed to build quickly without losing quality. Lastly, clear call-to-action buttons and contact links to make it easy for potential clients to connect.
Approach & Process
I worked closely with the client to ensure the designs truly reflected his brand identity and style. We kept things moving smoothly by setting up clear communication and staying aligned with his vision. To kick off the design process, I created a mood board to set the right visual direction. The client also shared some sketches and web inspirations, which helped shape the design. From there, it was all about designing, refining, and making sure everything came together perfectly.
Phase 01. Design in Figma
Now that we had clear goals and a vision for the website's look and feel, I jumped into Figma to design its structure. I started with a simple and easy-to-use navigation menu, making sure visitors could quickly explore past projects, learn about the designer, and find a clear contact button.
Since the main purpose of the site was to showcase the designer’s skills through visuals, I kept the text minimal and chose a clean, single-page layout. I also added dedicated pages for each project, allowing visitors to dive deeper into the design work.
Phase 02. Development in Framer
Next, it was time to bring my designs to life. I used Framer to build a responsive layout and kept the animations subtle—smooth page transitions, gentle press effects, and fast load times. I made sure the final website was well-optimized, so it felt smooth and reliable. These details helped achieve the goal of a clean, minimal, and easy-to-navigate site.
Outcome & Feedback
By the end of the project, Onoriode was really happy with his new website. It truly reflects his style and personality while also showcasing his work in the best way possible. The simple and easy-to-use design makes it effortless for potential clients to explore his projects and understand the value he brings as a brand designer. The site feels personal, professional, and exactly how he imagined it.
