Six Five Media

Elevating Tech Thought Leadership with a Bold, Scalable Web Experience for Six Five Media

Six Five Media lives at the intersection of incisive technology analysis and engaging digital storytelling. Born as a collaborative venture between industry leaders Patrick Moorhead (Moor Insights & Strategy) and Daniel Newman (Futurum Research), Six Five evolved from a fast-paced podcast—covering six tech topics in five-minute bursts—into a full-fledged media powerhouse. Today, the brand commands a unique voice in the enterprise technology world, blending in-depth expertise with compelling digital content, always on the cutting edge of the industry’s evolution.
Their audience is composed of business leaders, analysts, tech enthusiasts, and C-level decision-makers who rely on Six Five’s platform to stay informed and ahead of the curve. With a growing media presence, a steady stream of video and podcast content, and high-profile event coverage, Six Five needed a digital experience that could match the weight of their brand—and scale with their vision.

Compelling Event

As Six Five continued to expand, their existing WordPress-based website began to show its age. It was difficult to manage, lacking the flexibility needed to handle their increasingly diverse content formats, and not aligned with the brand’s evolving visual identity. The team needed a modern, stable, and high-performance platform that not only made day-to-day publishing easier but also visually reinforced their leadership in the tech media landscape.
To make matters more urgent, their annual Six Five Summit—a four-day virtual event featuring top-tier speakers from leading companies—was approaching quickly. The stakes were high: they needed a reimagined platform that could not only house their wealth of content but also support event promotion, livestreams, and on-demand sessions. That’s when they turned to Fri3nds* for a complete digital overhaul.

The Process

We began our work with a discovery phase, meeting with the Six Five team to deeply understand their goals, pain points, and vision. These collaborative sessions laid the foundation for a completely new design—one that felt modern, dynamic, and forward-thinking. Throughout the design phase, we iterated closely with their team, blending bold visual storytelling with functional clarity. The goal was clear: create a platform that positioned Six Five as the tech thought leaders they are, while keeping content accessible and easy to manage.
Once the design was finalized, we moved into Webflow development. As the project progressed, new ideas and use cases emerged, and we worked flexibly to accommodate them. This included building out complex CMS structures to manage podcasts, videos, hosts, and events.
A key milestone was integrating Goldcast, a robust virtual event platform used for the Summit livestreams. In the second phase, we built out a custom membership dashboard using Outseta, allowing Six Five to protect premium content, manage memberships, and offer on-demand Summit videos to attendees—all directly within Webflow.

The Outcome

The final result was a completely reimagined digital home for Six Five Media. Built on Webflow, the site is fast, reliable, and visually striking. The CMS was customized to give their team full control over podcasts, videos, events, and feature content—making day-to-day publishing intuitive and empowering. For a media brand like Six Five, control over their narrative is everything, and we made sure their new platform supported that from top to bottom.
From subtle GSAP animations and microinteractions to thoughtfully designed sliders and content displays, the new site doesn’t just host content—it enhances it. We also delivered a custom Maintenance Guide with detailed video walkthroughs, ensuring the Six Five team could confidently manage their site and grow it as needed. And with the addition of a seamless membership experience via Outseta, they can now gate exclusive content and continue to deliver value long after their live events end.

The Impact

Since the launch, Six Five Media has fully embraced their new site, using it as a central platform for ongoing content publishing and event engagement. Their Summit event was a standout success, drawing major registrations and wide interest—not only during the live streams but also afterward, with users returning to access exclusive on-demand content through the membership dashboard we built.
While we haven’t captured a formal testimonial just yet, the results speak for themselves: the Six Five team has transitioned from a frustrating, outdated platform to one that finally reflects the authority and energy of their brand. Their audience now experiences a polished, cohesive, and content-rich environment that supports deep engagement. For us at Fri3nds*, it was a joy to help bring their vision to life—and we’re proud to have played a part in elevating one of tech media’s most important voices.
