The Concept
Ascension & Connection
The roots of a game similar to Soccer entered the human collective hundreds of years before China was credited with inventing the game in Meso-America through the game they called Tlachtli. In Meso-American culture they used this game for religious purposes. The aim was to unite the people to each other, and to unite the people to “the gods.” Even in this day and age, each human aspires for a greater purpose or as the psychologist Abraham Maslow describes: “Self Actualization” This actualization is found in community and through something we love.
Hexagons & Trapezoids
A strong and sturdy base that is a trapezoid can easily tie in the Meso-American pyramid story behind striving for our higher purpose and recognizing what unites us as humans. Hexagons being a perfect geometric shape to eliminate space between cells, symbolizing the removal of “space” between users in order to come together and organize a soccer match with one another.
