Sportlink — A Video Streaming Concept Built in Webflow
Project Overview
Project: Sportlink (Video Streaming Concept)
Platform: Webflow + Memberstack
Goal: Create a modern streaming experience with member-only access, video content management, and a scalable CMS — similar to Netflix, but built inside Webflow.
Role: UX/UI Design & Webflow Development
Timeline: Concept project — completed as a technical and creative prototype
About the Concept
Sportlink was designed as a video streaming platform concept, focusing on simplicity, smooth user flow, and gated content.
The idea was to test how far Webflow can go in simulating a real streaming service — including user accounts, exclusive access, and dynamic video content managed via CMS.
The UI was inspired by modern streaming interfaces — clean typography, dark backgrounds, large thumbnails, and smooth animations — all optimized for both desktop and mobile.
Challenges
Private access system — integrating Memberstack to handle login, signup, and user authentication.
Complex CMS structure — organizing categories, video pages, and collections dynamically.
Streaming-like layout — building responsive horizontal scroll sections for categories like “Highlights,” “Interviews,” “Live Events.”
Performance optimization — ensuring smooth video previews and transitions despite heavy content.
Scalable logic — preparing the CMS and UI to support hundreds of videos with minimal manual updates.
Approach & Process
1. UX & Wireframing
Created a simple flow for users: Homepage → Login → Dashboard → Watch Page
Focused on minimal friction between sign-in and content access.
Designed a familiar “streaming app” feel — thumbnails, featured banners, categories.
2. UI & Design
Dark mode interface with bold typography for high contrast.
Modular design using reusable Webflow components.
Smooth hover states and video preview effects for an immersive experience.
3. Development
Implemented Memberstack integration for login, signup, and restricted pages.
Built a dynamic CMS with collections for:
Categories (Sports, Highlights, Interviews, etc.)
Videos (title, description, thumbnail, video URL, category reference)
Designed conditional visibility for logged-in users only.
Added custom video player embeds and responsive layouts.
Ensured mobile responsiveness and quick content loading.
Results
A fully functional streaming platform concept built entirely inside Webflow.
Smooth user experience with login-based access and dynamic CMS video content.
Flexible architecture — easy to scale for real production use or integration with a custom backend.
Even though it was a concept project, it proved Webflow’s potential for complex, interactive web apps beyond standard static websites.
