The Shoppies | Frontend development

The Shoppies is a movie nomination website developed as part of Shopify's 2021 Frontend Challenge, aimed at providing users with a seamless and enjoyable movie nomination experience. The primary objective was to create a user-friendly interface that allows users to search for movies, view results from an external API, and nominate their top 5 favorite films. I designed a clean and intuitive UI, taking inspiration from popular movie platforms like Netflix and IMDb, to ensure a familiar and engaging user experience.









Leveraging Next.js and React, I implemented a responsive and dynamic frontend that efficiently handles user interactions and seamlessly integrates with the backend API. I incorporated features such as search functionality, nomination tracking, and the ability to remove nominations, providing users with a smooth and interactive experience. To enhance the visual appeal and maintain a consistent design language, I utilized Tailwind CSS and CSS-in-JS techniques, ensuring a polished and visually appealing interface.
