As the lead designer for Sensu Night Market, I was tasked with crafting a distinctive brand identity that would resonate with its unique concept-a fusion of electronic music with inspirations drawn from Tokyo's vibrant nightlife and its mysterious dark alleys.
I approached this challenge by first immersing myself in the sounds, visuals, and vibes of Tokyo after dark. Drawing from elements like neon lights, shadowy lanes, and the pulsating rhythm of electronic beats, I developed a visual language that is both contemporary and nostalgic.
The final design palette made use of deep, rich colors juxtaposed with bright neon tones to capture the contrast of Tokyo's night scene. Typography was chosen to give a nod to the urban, gritty feel of alleyways, while also exuding the sleekness of a modern nightclub.
