Deadline is a conceptual energy drink brand created for creatives who thrive under pressure. While most energy drinks focus on athletes, gamers, or fitness enthusiasts, Deadline was designed for a different kind of performance, the all-nighter, the last-minute revision, the designer staring at the same logo for three hours, and the creator doing their best work when the clock is against them.
Built around the culture of creative work, Deadline delivers a smooth energy boost through health-conscious ingredients and a modern visual identity that reflects the pace, intensity, and momentum of working towards a deadline.
The Challenge
The brief challenged the creation of a complete energy drink brand that would stand apart from the saturated market of sports and performance-focused beverages. The goal was to develop a brand that appealed to creatives and knowledge workers rather than athletes, while avoiding the clichés often associated with health and energy products.
The identity needed to feel bold, modern, and highly distinctive, while remaining flexible across packaging, merchandise, social media, and campaign applications. The challenge was to create a brand people would not only drink, but also wear, share, and connect with as part of their creative lifestyle.
The Solution
Deadline positions energy as a creative tool rather than a physical performance enhancer. The concept is inspired by the progression of an all-nighter, transforming the experience of working under pressure into a complete brand narrative.
The product range follows four key moments within the creative process: Brief, Flow, Revision, and Delivery. Each flavour is represented by a unique timestamp and colour, creating a visual timeline that reflects the journey from the initial idea to the final submission.
This approach allows the brand to tell a story through its packaging while creating a system that is memorable, relatable, and instantly recognisable to its audience.
The Visual Identity
The visual identity is built around the concepts of urgency, momentum, and creative focus. A bold condensed wordmark creates a sense of speed and forward movement, reflecting the fast-paced nature of creative work under pressure.
A vibrant colour system distinguishes each flavour while representing different moments throughout the night. Inspired by editorial design, streetwear culture, and late-night studio environments, the visual language combines strong typography, high contrast, and expressive colour to create a brand that feels contemporary, energetic, and confident.
The result is a distinctive identity system that performs consistently across packaging, merchandise, digital content, and campaign applications.
