Case Study: Full Website Redesign for ACS Electrical
Overview
ACS Electrical needed a complete overhaul of their outdated website. The old structure was cluttered, navigation wasn’t intuitive, and the site failed to reflect the professionalism of a growing electrical services company. I was brought in to lead a full redesign — from strategy and architecture to execution and launch — using my 15+ years of WordPress expertise.
Goals
Modernize the entire visual identity and layout
Build a clean, intuitive navigation system
Improve clarity of service categories
Strengthen trust and user experience
Create a scalable framework the client can update easily
My Role
I handled the full lifecycle of the redesign, combining design, development, UX planning, and project management.
1. WordPress Expertise — Built for Performance and Longevity
With more than a decade and a half working in WordPress, I engineered the new ACS Electrical site for speed, maintainability, and long-term stability.
Key WordPress Contributions
Clean, modular theme setup optimized for fast load times
Streamlined backend structure for easy client updates
Advanced customizations while keeping the site lightweight
Correct use of global styles and design tokens for consistency
Elementor Pro Implementation
A big part of the build involved Elementor Pro, where I:
Created reusable global templates for headers, footers, service pages
Used Elementor Theme Builder for complete design control
Built custom widgets and sections aligned with ACS branding
Ensured mobile-first responsiveness and pixel consistency
Leveraged dynamic content to future-proof the site
This approach gives ACS Electrical a professional site they can actually maintain — without breaking things.
2. Project Management — Keeping Everything on Track
This wasn’t just a design job. It required managing timelines, communication, deliverables, and approvals.
What I Led
Defined project scope and priorities
Set up a clear timeline from discovery to launch
Coordinated content gathering and revision cycles
Delivered progress milestones ahead of schedule
Ensured consistent communication and status updates
Conducted quality assurance and final testing before launch
The entire project stayed organized, predictable, and on time — because every phase had structure.
3. Wireframing & New Information Architecture
The old site suffered from scattered content and confusing paths. I rebuilt the foundation before touching design.
Process
Audited the existing website pages
Identified user flows and pain points
Consolidated redundant content
Created a wireframe for every major page
Drafted a new navigation structure based on real user logic
Designed a cleaner architecture that simplifies choices and highlights key services
The result: an intuitive, logical site that’s effortless to navigate.
This wireframe served as the blueprint for the entire redesign — making development smoother and preventing guesswork later.
4. Bringing It All Together
Once the wireframes, architecture, and templates were set, I moved into full production:
Custom page layouts for each service category
Strong visual hierarchy to guide users
Improved calls-to-action for quotes and service requests
Consistent branding across all touchpoints
Mobile-optimized layouts that actually feel native
SEO-friendly structure and proper semantic markup
The final product is a clean, professional, high-performing WordPress site that positions ACS Electrical as a trusted service provider in their market.
Results
Faster load times
Far better user flow
Higher engagement on service pages
A site that's easier for the client to manage
A modern, trustworthy presence that matches the quality of their work
