The Purple Lilac is a woman-owned, artisan coffee shop that leans heavily into the feminine side of us. It helps with our everyday life, through our everyday coffee. In this project, the brief was simply to design a brand for a small coffee shop.

The reasonings behind the designs
The logomark is a sort of wordmark that incorporates some distortion in the type to create the imagery of a coffee bean out of the letters. The main font is a classic and timeless Serif, and accompanying it is a handwritten signature of sorts.
The shop has a predominantly young, female target audience, hence the colour palette of bright pinks and purples and the stylistic choices, like subtle pattern usage and elegant, curvy typefaces.
The combination of traditional type and imagery and modern aspects of clean and minimal design give this handcrafted coffee the feeling that there is not only milk and arabica, but love and professional knowledge being poured into it as well.
Mockup of a possible shop sign
The aim was to create something that was striking and memorable, while retaining some simple and clean stylistic choices that make the whole package come together in a harmonious, fun way.
