A refund isn’t really the problem. the follow-up is.
this store had refunds landing in Shopify, but the team worked out of ClickUp. so someone had to spot the refunded order, open it, and copy the details across by hand. order number, customer, amount, all retyped. when it’s a busy week, refunds get missed or tracked differently by different people.
so I developed a Make scenario that closes that gap. 6 steps, all automatic:
→ a Shopify refund event triggers it
→ the order details get pulled straight from Shopify
→ the scenario checks a Make Data Store for the matching record
→ the ClickUp task updates, with custom fields filled from the order data
→ a short pause
→ the processed record gets deleted from the Data Store
that last step is my favourite bit. most automations leave junk behind and nobody notices until it gets messy. this one cleans up after itself.
now a refunded order shows up in ClickUp with the right details already in the fields. nobody copies anything, nobody has to remember to check.
Stack...Make.com, Shopify, ClickUp, Make Data Store, API integration. the same pattern (event, match, update task, clean up) works for chargebacks, returns, failed deliveries, any exception you want tracked as real work

Make automation that moves refunded Shopify orders into ClickUp tasks, fills custom fields, and cleans up after itself. No manual copying.
