Harmattan Hues Publishing Ltd. is a digital-first independent publishing house dedicated to amplifying diverse, underrepresented voices — bridging rich African storytelling traditions with the modern global literary market. The catalog spans contemporary literary fiction, Africanfuturism, and narrative nonfiction.
This was a concept project: a fully realized digital storefront and brand identity built end-to-end, from visual identity to a functional web presence.
The Brief
The goal was to bring the publishing house to life online — a storefront that felt as considered and tactile as the books it sells. The brand aesthetic, "Warm Minimalism," called for earthy tones (terracotta, soft charcoal) and clean, breathable typography that mimics the elegance of a physical book.
What I Built
A fully responsive storefront built with Vite and Tailwind CSS
A catalog browsing experience showcasing the house's fiction, speculative, and nonfiction titles
A brand identity system rooted in Warm Minimalism — earthy palette, considered typography, generous whitespace
Print-on-Demand and selective offset distribution logic reflected in the storefront's UX
Full deployment on Vercel
The Result
A cohesive digital presence that communicates the brand's mission at a glance — culturally grounded, visually refined, and built to scale as the catalog grows.
