Challenge

This project focused on redesigning a University website. They wanted a refreshed design and to move to the WordPress platform. They really needed a restructuring of their information architecture and a more user-centered approach to design.

My Responsibilities

I worked as a UX/UI designer in a team of developers. Primarily, I restructured the whole information architecture to make sense for the users. After that, I conducted many interviews with the university staff and students to determine the most critical information. Wireframing, prototyping, more testing, and the final design followed.

At one point, the key decision-maker decided that he wanted to change the University’s primary color, so the whole project was rehauled into a completely different visual way. That included creating a brand new color scheme and style guide.

Solution

To adapt the website to the intended user - their students-the information architecture was adapted to highlight the most needed information. The final design is refreshed, delightful, and student-friendly. I also wrote the copy to be user-friendly, warm, and welcoming, with a dash of humor.
