MALA FLORA — Art Direction & Interactive Brand Experience
MALA FLORA is a tattoo studio in Villa Crespo, Buenos Aires, with the gallery on the first floor and the studio on the second. One original artwork, Jardín Turbio, became its whole visual world, from the identity and the sign to the campaign and the website. The tattoos stay the work of the studio’s artists.
Never recolor or redraw the painting. Crop, scale and layer it only.
Every color is picked from the canvas, plus one lime accent for actions.
The Idea Lab explores an idea in halftone. It’s not a fake tattoo preview.
MY ROLE
ARTIST — created Jardín Turbio, the artwork behind everything.
ART DIRECTOR — set the idea: a dark, overgrown garden seen through halftone dots.
IMAGE DIRECTOR — directed the facade, interiors and poster imagery in Magnific.
DESIGNER — built the identity, the studio sign and the campaign posters.
WEB DESIGNER — designed and built the booking website in Lovable.
Visual identity — wordmark, palette and typography, carried across print and screen.
Campaign poster series — “Antes de que la tinta toque la piel.”
Signage and campaign in context — the wordmark on black steel, the artwork on the street.

THE EXPERIENCE
Visitors upload a reference, explore live halftone and RGB treatments, adjust placement and book a design consultation. The artist receives everything together: the original reference, the edited exploration, the placement preview and the client’s notes. The placement is a visual aid. The artist decides the final tattoo at the consultation.
