Tyle is a mobile app that helps you discover and share unique places: restaurants, hotels, museums and hidden gems based on your interests and connections. Save places (“tyles”), organize them into collections, and plan trips effortlessly.

After delivering the MVP design, the client ran usability testing and came back with a request to refine several parts of the app, aiming to improve the overall UX and introduce new features, including AI-powered functionality.

The onboarding flow was redesigned with a cleaner, more minimalist visual style. The core features were highlighted, and the updated Discovery section was showcased to create a clearer first impression and communicate the product value from the very beginning.

The layout and interaction logic of the section were updated. Instead of endless vertical scrolling with cards, a new behavioral pattern and set of components were introduced.

The content is now presented as a swipeable card stack, where one full-screen card is always in focus. Users can:

tap on the card edges to quickly preview location photos

swipe left to dislike

swipe right to like and save

scroll down to view full details with description and additional actions

This interaction pattern is inspired by swipe-based mobile apps (e.g., dating apps), adapted for location discovery.

The layout was redesigned and transformed into a more compact list format. Navigation was improved, a segment control was added, saved locations can now be viewed on the map, and a new feature allows creating collections from saved places.

From the saved list, users can quickly access location details and add the place to an existing trip or create a new one. A new feature enables creating collections from saved locations.

An AI-powered flow was introduced, allowing users to create a trip instantly by typing a single sentence with a few details. tyle AI generates a personalized trip plan based on the input.

The option “Create a trip with tyle AI” is available — simply enter a prompt and get instant results. The generated trip can be reviewed and adjusted by refining the prompt or by manually editing specific details before saving.
