Refresh Me is an on-demand mobile application that connects users with nearby barbershops, hair stylists, and makeup artists.
The scope of this project was to design a mobile app for two audiences: end users looking to book beauty services and merchants managing their appointments and availability.
As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for end-to-end design workflows from discovery to final visual assets while collaborating closely with project managers and the client to deliver a seamless, user-friendly experience.
My Role
I served as the UI/UX designer for both the user-facing and merchant-facing sides of the application. My responsibilities included conducting user flow mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and delivering high-fidelity UI designs using Figma.
I worked directly with the project manager and client to align business goals with design decisions, and iterated on designs based on feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
Challenges
One of the main challenges was designing for two distinct user types customers and merchants within a single product ecosystem. Each side had different goals and mental models, so creating intuitive navigation without adding complexity was critical.
Additionally, designing real-time availability and booking flows required careful attention to edge cases, such as handling scheduling conflicts and service duration variations.
Design Process
The design process began with a discovery phase, where I reviewed competitor apps and mapped out key user journeys for both customers and merchants. From there, I created low-fidelity wireframes to validate the core flows before moving into high-fidelity UI design in Figma.
I built a component-based design system to ensure visual consistency across both apps and delivered interactive prototypes for client review and developer handoff.
