Case Study: SEO Content Writing for Cleva (B2B & B2C)
Project Overview
Cleva is a fintech company helping individuals, freelancers, creators, and businesses across Africa access USD banking and seamless cross-border payments. My role was to build a scalable SEO content engine that would:
Capture high-intent search demand across B2C and B2B audiences
Educate users on complex financial topics in simple, relatable language
Drive qualified organic traffic that converts into product usage
Position Cleva as both a trusted financial partner and a thought leader
I wrote long-form, search-optimised blog content targeting everyday Nigerians, freelancers, remote workers, creators, and growing businesses that deal with USD payments.
The Process
Every piece followed a structured, research-led workflow designed for both SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation).
Phase 1: Keyword & Search Intent Research
Used SEMrush to identify high-volume, high-intent keywords and content gaps
Analysed SERPs to understand search intent (informational vs transactional)
Mapped primary keywords, secondary keywords, and People Also Ask questions
Prioritised keywords that aligned directly with Cleva’s core products
Phase 2: Content Planning & Expert Research
Created detailed outlines with clear H1–H3 structures
For technical or sensitive topics, I conducted expert interviews to ensure accuracy and depth
Balanced SEO requirements with real user pain points and local context
Phase 3: Writing for Humans and Search Engines
Simple, conversational language tailored to Nigerian audiences
Clear explanations of financial concepts without jargon
Strategic internal linking and natural keyword placement
Strong product positioning without sounding salesy
Phase 4: SEO & AEO Optimisation
Optimized content using Yoast SEO Pro (readability, metadata, internal links)
Added FAQ sections to capture featured snippets and People Also Ask results
Wrote SEO-friendly titles, meta descriptions, and structured headers
Published and monitored performance via Google Search Console
