Coobari: Mindset & Wellbeing for Growing Minds

Coobari is a mindset and wellbeing platform created to help kids and teens understand themselves, navigate emotions, strengthen relationships and develop everyday life skills.
The experience brings together mindfulness, journalling, guided reflection, emotional learning and practical tools within one calm digital space.
Studio Kelcy created the complete Coobari brand and product—from the initial idea and content framework through to app design, FlutterFlow development, website creation and launch.

The Vision

Coobari began with the idea of creating a supportive digital space where young people could pause, reflect and learn more about themselves.
The goal was not to create another app focused only on finding calm. Coobari needed to support the broader experiences that shape a growing mind—including emotions, confidence, friendships, learning, routines, decision-making and personal direction.
The product also needed to feel relevant across different ages while providing thoughtful resources for the adults supporting them.
Coobari was designed for:
Kids and teens
Parents and caregivers
Teachers and schools
Other adults supporting young people

Phase 1: Design

Creating the Brand

The Coobari identity was designed to feel calm, optimistic and appropriate for a broad age range.
It needed to appeal to young people without feeling overly childish, while also giving parents, caregivers and teachers confidence in the quality of the platform.
Studio Kelcy created the:
Brand direction
Logo and app icon
Colour palette
Typography
Illustration style
App interface
Website interface
App Store graphics
Supporting content templates
Printable and physical-resource direction
Soft colours, open layouts and landscape-inspired illustrations create a welcoming visual world without overwhelming the content.

Designing for Different Ages

Coobari supports young people from early childhood through to their teenage years.
The onboarding experience allows users to select an age group:
Little Ones
Kids
Teens
This helps the app present content that feels relevant to each stage of development while maintaining one consistent Coobari experience.
The interface was designed to remain simple enough for younger users while still feeling considered and engaging for teens.

Pause, Reflect and Grow

The central app experience was organised into three approachable starting points.

Pause

A place to explore mindfulness, breathing exercises, meditations, calming activities and other tools for moments when emotions feel overwhelming or a user needs time to reset.

Reflect

A collection of journals, guided questions, emotional check-ins and reflection activities that help users make sense of their thoughts, experiences and what matters to them.

Grow

Practical content for building confidence, understanding the brain, strengthening relationships, developing study habits and navigating everyday challenges.
This structure makes it easier for users to begin according to what they need in the moment rather than navigating a large traditional content library.

The Six-Pillar Framework

As Coobari evolved, its content was organised around six connected pillars for emotional and personal growth.

Inside My Brain

Helping young people understand how their brain, thoughts, attention and learning work.

Navigating Emotions

Building emotional awareness and exploring practical ways to move through everyday feelings.

Being Me

Supporting confidence, identity, self-awareness and a stronger understanding of personal strengths.

Growing Connections

Exploring friendships, communication, boundaries, empathy and meaningful relationships.

Mindful Moments

Creating space for mindfulness, calm, reflection and connection with the present moment.

Finding Direction

Supporting motivation, decision-making, goals, learning and the experiences that help young people move forward.
The framework allows Coobari to expand while ensuring every new activity or resource has a clear purpose within the wider product.

Content Experience

Coobari contains different types of content so young people can choose how they want to engage.
The content system was designed to support:
Mindfulness activities
Meditations
Journalling prompts
Guided reflections
Emotional check-ins
Videos and animations
Brain and mindset learning
Friendship and relationship resources
Study and everyday life skills
Card decks and guided tools
Every content type follows a consistent visual structure while allowing the individual activity to feel distinct.

Accessibility and Ease of Use

The app was designed to reduce unnecessary friction and avoid placing too many demands on young users.
Features such as clear navigation, age-based content, dark and light modes and familiar content layouts make it easier to find and use resources independently.
The journalling experience encourages reflection without requiring users to complete large amounts of data entry.

Website Design

Studio Kelcy also designed and created the Coobari website.
The website introduces the broader Coobari vision and explains how the platform supports young people and the adults around them.
Its structure includes:
The Coobari app
Pause, Reflect and Grow
The six-pillar framework
Resources for kids and teens
Resources for parents and caregivers
Resources for teachers
Journals, card decks and physical products
Wellbeing articles and activities
App-download links
The app’s colours, illustrations and tone were extended across the website to create one connected brand experience.

Phase 2: Build

FlutterFlow and Firebase Development

Once the product structure and visual design were established, the app was built in FlutterFlow and connected to Firebase.
Firebase supports the app’s user accounts, age preferences, selected areas of focus, content structure and personalised experience.
The build was created to support a growing library of resources without requiring every activity to be built as a separate static page.

Personalised Onboarding

The onboarding flow introduces users to Coobari and helps tailor the experience around their age and interests.
Users can select the areas they would like to focus on, allowing the platform to provide a more relevant starting point.
The experience was designed to gather useful preferences without making the user complete a lengthy setup process.

Dynamic Content Library

Coobari’s content is organised through a dynamic Firebase structure.
Activities can be assigned to different:
Age groups
App sections
Content types
Wellbeing pillars
Topics and areas of focus
This creates a flexible foundation for continually adding new journals, activities, videos, meditations and learning resources as Coobari grows.

Mindfulness and Audio Experiences

Guided meditations and mindfulness activities provide young people with simple ways to pause and reset.
The app includes dedicated audio experiences with clear playback controls and calming supporting visuals.
Activities can include breathing exercises, body awareness, visualisations, bedtime routines and other guided practices.

Journalling and Reflection

The reflection tools help users explore thoughts, emotions and everyday experiences through guided prompts.
The journal experience was designed to feel approachable and private, with prompts that encourage self-awareness without making reflection feel like an assignment.

Videos and Animations

Video and animation content helps explain ideas in an accessible and engaging format.
Custom video experiences were developed to support landscape playback while keeping the rest of the app in portrait orientation.
This allows educational and mindfulness content to feel immersive without disrupting the broader mobile experience.

Age-Based Content

Content visibility is connected to the user’s selected age group.
This allows one platform to support a wide audience while keeping each user’s experience focused on resources that are appropriate and relevant to them.

Saved and Personalised Content

Users can return to useful resources and continue exploring the areas most relevant to them.
Personal preferences and saved information create a more individual experience without requiring users to continually repeat their selections.

The store presentation introduces Coobari as:
A space to pause, reflect and grow. Helping you navigate everyday moments.
The preview screens communicate the app’s different content areas, age groups and audiences while maintaining the calm visual identity of the product.

Website Launch

The Coobari website was designed and launched alongside the evolving app.
It provides a central home for the app, educational framework, supporting audiences, articles and future physical resources.
The website was also designed to grow with Coobari as journals, card decks, learning activities and other wellbeing tools are introduced.

The Outcome

Coobari has grown from an initial youth-wellbeing app into a broader mindset and wellbeing platform for growing minds.
The finished digital experience gives kids and teens a calm place to explore emotions, reflect on their experiences, understand themselves and build practical skills for everyday life.
Parents, caregivers and teachers are also supported with resources that make emotional learning, mindfulness, reflection and meaningful conversations easier to introduce at home and in the classroom.
For Studio Kelcy, Coobari represents the complete product journey—from identifying an idea and developing the brand through to content strategy, app design, FlutterFlow development, website creation and launch.
The flexible content framework also creates a foundation for Coobari to continue expanding across digital experiences, journals, card decks, educational resources and physical products.
