Korax is a fintech startup focused on making digital finance feel simpler, cleaner, and more modern.
The name “Korax” was inspired by the African musical instrument Kora. The client wanted that inspiration to somehow exist within the logo, but not in a literal or clip-art way. Instead, the goal was to subtly take inspiration from elements like the strings, flow, and shape language of the instrument.
The main challenge in this project was creating a brand identity that feels modern and technology-focused while still carrying inspiration from a traditional 1800s wooden instrument. It was an interesting balance between old and new, and honestly, a really fun puzzle to solve.
I explored a lot of different logo directions during the process. Not all of them aligned perfectly, but each exploration helped move the identity closer to the final direction.
