Overview

Hesh is a real-time manufacturing execution system (MES) designed to streamline and optimize production processes for a fashion brand operating in the U.S. I led the end-to-end redesign of the platform, introducing a more intuitive experience for industrial teams and improving operational visibility and task management.

My Contribution

Conducted 50+ user interviews to uncover production inefficiencies and communication gaps
Redesigned the Workflow Editor and Production pages for clarity and usability
Built a scalable design system using atomic principles
Led prototyping, A/B testing, and design iterations in close collaboration with stakeholders
Designed a mobile solution to improve task tracking and communication

Impact

The new experience boosted production efficiency by 30%, improved navigation and task distribution, and increased team alignment. The mobile solution improved communication speed by 20%, while the design system reduced inconsistency and developer friction.
📍 Wilmington, USA 📅 2024 🏭 Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial Automation
As the lead designer at Hesh, I transformed a fragmented MES into a user-centered production tool. By collaborating with a cross-functional team, I delivered intuitive web and mobile solutions that increased efficiency by 30% and empowered production teams to work smarter.
Since I joined, Hesh’s user experience and interface have undergone a complete transformation. The previous product missed business goals and user needs, so I redesigned it entirely, introducing a cohesive design system
Empathise phase
I conducted 50 semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions to understand the production process and user challenges
Define
Following the interviews with key stakeholders and users, we uncovered the following challenges
Ideate phase
After user interviews and insights, I led tons of brainstorms to generate ideas and explore solutions, focusing on design directions, features, and user needs
Prototype and test phases
We focused on the top-priority features that required the most substantial redesign: the Production and Workflow Editor flows
The Workflow Editor required a complete overhaul as it failed to align with business goals and user needs
I crafted over 400 layouts, leveraging A/B testing and feedback to ensure a seamless experience, resulting in the successful launch of version 1.1 with a user-centric design focus
Through brainstorming, I identified the need for a mobile app with real-time updates and designed a solution that improved communication efficiency by 20%
Through collaboration with stakeholders, I identified the need for core webpages, designed impactful solutions, boosting product sales by 55%
I initiated and developed a design system based on atomic design principles to ensure consistency and streamline the development process
Positive impact and good engagement
