Project Management & Coordination for Remote Teams

Overview

This sample project highlights how I approach project management and team coordination for remote startups and small businesses.
Most remote teams don't have a dedicated project manager. Tasks get scattered across Slack threads, emails, and random docs. Deadlines slip. Context gets lost. I step in to build the system that keeps everything moving.

What I Did

Set up and maintained a centralized project tracker in Notion, covering task assignments, deadlines, status updates, and dependencies
Ran weekly check-ins and async standups via Slack to keep the team aligned without unnecessary meetings
Created shared Google Workspace folders and templates for recurring deliverables (reports, briefs, meeting notes)
Tracked project milestones and flagged blockers before they became problems
Managed cross-functional communication between marketing, ops, and leadership

Results

Reduced missed deadlines by building a clear, repeatable workflow the whole team could follow
Cut meeting time by replacing status update calls with structured async updates
Gave leadership a single dashboard view of all active projects and priorities

Tools & Approach

I keep things simple and scalable. Notion for the project hub, Slack for communication, Google Workspace for docs and collaboration. No bloated tool stacks, just the right setup for the team size.
